Cottam is a planned station that will serve the neighbourhoods of Cottam and Lea in Preston, Lancashire. The station will be located on the Preston – Blackpool line between Preston and Salwick, and will be built on the site of the former Lea Road station, which closed in 1938.

Work is already underway on detailed designs and a planning application for the Cottam Parkway railway station along with a new access road, and most of the funding needed was secured in March this year with the award of over £22m through the Transforming Cities Fund.

The new two-platform station on the Fylde rail line in northwest Preston is proposed to provide access to the railway network for more than 5,000 new homes, and support access to existing and new job opportunities at the Enterprise Zone at Warton, while reducing pressure on local roads.

It is anticipated that the planning application will be submitted early in 2022 with a start on site later the same year.
